The Gardens |
Entry Garden Designed as an outdoor garden “room” with teak furniture and slate floor, the plants of the season are placed to create privacy and colorful focal points to this outdoor space. For example, camellias in the spring, peonies and daisies in the summer, pumpkins and winter pansies in the fall; and miniature Christmas trees and arbors bedecked with garland in the winter.
Private Gardens
The hotel offers eight garden rooms, each with a private terrace. A favorite among those traveling with pets; they are located on the ground floor. Petite private terraces feature a slate terrace with tea table and chairs. Plantings on the terrace range from aromatic rosemary to seasonal flowering plants.
Woodland Garden
A meandering path along Fogg Cove leads guests under a shady canopy of old magnolia, holly and cypress trees where Japanese Painted Ferns, Solomon Seel, Hostas, and Bears Breech nestle among other shade loving plants.
Kitchen Garden
Drawing inspiration from formal English gardens, The Inn at Perry Cabin's kitchen garden includes herbs and lettuces accented with pansies, sweet peas, roses, and blueberries in a formed design that maintains year round beauty and provides a bounty for the hotel’s kitchen staff who can be seen in the early morning harvesting chives, rosemary, basil, mint and thyme.
On the edge of the garden, an arbor draped with wisteria and iceberg roses creates a stunning entryway to the Inn's outdoor pool.
The Greenhouse and Cutting Gardens
The Inn's greenhouse is the nursery for many of the plants that will be showcased in and around the hotel, and also the main source for the many bud vases and bouquets that are used in the restaurant and other public spaces. | | |
